Microsoft begins retesting their Live Search reconstruction site Kumo.com

Kumo is a codename that surfaced months ago. It's unclear whether it will stick. BoomTown says the word means both spider and cloud in Japanese. In an e-mail seeking Microsoft testers Satya Nadella, senior VP of R&D for the company's online unit, said search engines leave 40% of queries unanswered and half "are about searchers returning to previous tasks; and 46% of search sessions are longer than 20 minutes," suggesting to Microsoft that folks aren't finding what they're looking for. "We believe we can provide a better and more useful search experience that helps you not just search but accomplish tasks," he said.
