(August 15, 2004) - The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) recently announced the promotions of Eric Byer to vice president of government and industry affairs and Amy Koranda to director, safety management. Byer had been director of government and industry affairs. Koranda was formerly manager of education and training. Byer joined NATA in 1998 as a legislative affairs specialist. He was promoted to director, government and industry affairs, last year. Prior to NATA, Byer was a senior government affairs coordinator at Smith, Bucklin and Associates. Previously he was Legislative/Staff Assistant to Congressman William F. Clinger, Jr. of Pennsylvania and also worked for Congressman Dean Gallo of New Jersey. Byer now leads the policy team at NATA that focuses on a wide array of legislative and regulatory issues affecting association members. Koranda -- an active commercial pilot with instrument and multi-engine ratings-- joined the association in 1998 as manager, education and training. She has developed NATA’s Safety 1st Program into a nationally recognized line-service safety-training program employed by more than 600 FBOs. She will now oversee the development of the association’s recently launched safety management program. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
