(July 28, 2004) – To avoid summer crowds and potential time delays at Teterboro Airport, Bombardier Skyjet, a private jet service and a unit of Bombardier Aerospace, has devised a program that instead, takes you to Long Island to board your Lear jet. Bombadier will fly you via helicopter from any of three heliport locations in Manhattan to Republic Airport in East Farmingdale, NY, where you can then board your private jet and get to your destination without delay. The company says the cost of the 18-minute, six-passenger helicopter trip from Manhattan to Republic is about $1,300, which is well worth it for the time savings; the service also eliminates the cost of limo service or other ground transportation from Manhattan. The company is also making the private helicopter-jet package available to its Premier Fleet jet card members who can trade some of their jet hours for time on a six-passenger helicopter.
